Co-Creation Workshop
“The workshop was fun, thought provoking and inclusive… you took time to understand what we wanted to achieve, and our collective thoughts. The images are fantastic. Thank you.”

REFLECTION, EXPRESSION & CREATION in COMMUNITY…
A transformative journey through co-creation workshops, where reflection, expression, and creation converged to celebrate the invaluable work of NHS nurses. The workshops took place at the CNS Nurses Annual Conference, where attendees delved into a space meticulously crafted for connection and deep reflection.

Stage 1: Crafting the Experience
Our journey began with the design phase, where I collaborated closely with Macmillan and NHS teams, drawing upon a rich toolkit spanning graphic facilitation, co-creation methodologies, gestalt principles, art therapy, theatre improvisation, and illustration. This holistic approach aimed to honour both the practical, intellectual and emotional dimensions of the nurses’ experiences.

Stage 2: Immersion in the Process
The workshop was an embodied space (no chairs!) where, through interactive dynamics, participants explored their roles and contributions. Individual reflections evolved into collective narratives, fostering a rich tapestry of ideas, observations, and emotions. This manifested in a communal mural, symbolising their shared journey.

Stage 3: Sharing the Collective Vision
After the event, I turned the mural into a vibrant illustration, to represent their community and amplify their insights. This final Rich Picture, a testament to their dedication and resilience, was shared across the UK, amplifying the voices of CNS Cancer Nurses and celebrating their invaluable contributions.

Guiding this transformative process from conception to final outcome was a beautiful experience.
